We’re so glad you’re here. Refuge Church is a family of faith where people of all backgrounds can find belonging, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and live out the hope of the gospel together. Whether this is your first time exploring faith or you’ve been following Jesus for years, you have a place here.

Who Is Welcome?

Everyone. Come as you are. You don’t need perfect clothes, a perfect past, or all the answers. We welcome seekers, new believers, long-time Christians, families, singles, and anyone looking for a genuine community. Refuge is meant to be a safe place to meet God and find real relationships.

We also have a Spanish ministry led by our Spanish pastor, and our Sunday services are translated live into Spanish so that Spanish-speaking friends and families can fully participate and feel at home.

Our Style

We are a contemporary church. You’ll find casual dress, modern worship music, and practical, Bible-centered teaching. While our style is current, our foundation is rooted in the historic Christian faith and the authority of Scripture.

Our Mission

Refuge Church is a family of faith sent to proclaim hope in Jesus through relationships.

We are big on church family. We share six churchwide family meals every year because we believe life change happens best in community. Relational ministry is at the heart of who we are—we share the gospel and grow as disciples primarily through authentic relationships.

This happens through small groups, kids ministry, student ministry, and serving together. We also engage in missions locally, regionally (including Kentucky), and globally (including Honduras), because the hope we have in Jesus is meant to be shared near and far.

What We Believe

At Refuge Church we stand on the authority of Scripture and the historic Christian faith. We joyfully affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our doctrinal standard. Here is a clear summary of the core truths that shape who we are and how we live:

The Bible The Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is God’s revelation of Himself to us, completely true and trustworthy, and the final standard for faith and practice. All Scripture points to Jesus Christ.

God There is one living and true God who exists eternally as three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of all things—infinite in holiness, power, knowledge, and love.

Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He is the only Savior and will return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is fully God. He convicts of sin, draws people to Christ, regenerates believers, indwells and seals them, produces spiritual fruit, and empowers the church for witness and service.

Humanity and Sin Every person is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity. Because of the fall, every person inherits a nature inclined toward sin and, when capable of moral action, will sin. Sin separates us from God and brings condemnation. Only God’s grace can restore us.

Salvation Salvation is the free gift of God, offered to every person through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is received by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone—never by works. When a person responds to the gospel with repentance and faith, they are born again by the Holy Spirit, become a new creation in Christ, and enter into eternal life. God completes the work He begins: justifying the believer, progressively sanctifying them into the likeness of Christ, and one day glorifying them fully. We affirm that God, in His sovereignty, has given every person genuine free will to accept or reject the gospel. Election refers to God’s gracious plan to have a people who belong to Him by repentance and faith. The good news is to be proclaimed to all people everywhere.

The Church The church is a local congregation of baptized believers who gather under the lordship of Christ for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission. We observe the two ordinances Jesus gave us: believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.

Last Things Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly. The dead will be raised, and every person will stand before God. Believers will enjoy eternal life with Christ; those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God.
